Data protection

The protection of personal data is important to Gasunie Energy Development (GED). The data you provide to us is handled in accordance with the legal regulations, in particular those of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the EU GDPR. With your consent, you agree to GED processing the data you have provided. As the data controller, Gasunie Energy Development GmbH, with its offices at Podbielskistraße 376 in Hanover (postcode 30659), also referred to as ‘GED’, processes the personal data collected from you based on your consent. If you have any questions about the content of this page or want to make a complaint in relation to the collection and processing of your personal data by GED, please contact our Data Protection Officer by sending an email to the address given under point 4 below.

In principle, you can visit the GED website without telling us who you are.

We will then only automatically receive the following log data:

• an anonymous visitor ID (a ‘cookie’) that does not identify your IP address
• the operating system and web browser you are using and the screen resolution you have set
• the date and time of your visit
• the pages on our website you have visited, and
• the website from which you are visiting us.

When you visit our website, we may send you a cookie so that our system can recognise your device the next time you visit. We do this on the legal basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device and which contain personal data such as personal preferences and log-in information for the website.

We use cookies to personalise the website content according to your interests, for example, or to save your password so that you do not have to re-enter it each time you visit. This personalised experience would not be possible without the use of cookies. 1. Right to be informed: You have the right to be informed of whether we are collecting and using your personal data and, if so, which personal data we process. The information to be provided when you exercise this right concerns in particular the purpose of the data processing, the categories of personal data being processed, and the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data has been or will be disclosed. However, the right to be informed is not an absolute right and the legitimate interests of other people may limit your right to be informed.
2. Right to rectification: You have the right to have inaccurate personal data about you corrected. Depending on the purposes of the data processing, you also have the right to have your personal data be completed if it is incomplete, including through the provisions of a supplementary statement.
3. Right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’): Subject to certain conditions, you can request that the personal data concerning you be deleted immediately.
4. Right to restrict processing: Subject to certain conditions, you have the right to request the restriction or suppression of your personal data, in which case the personal data concerned will be marked as restricted and only processed by us for very specific purposes.
5. Right to data portability: Subject to certain conditions, you have the right to obtain personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (this is referred to as ‘data portability’) and, if necessary, to transmit that data to a different data controller without hindrance from the party to whom the personal data was provided.
6. Right to object: Subject to certain conditions, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds arising from your particular situation. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time and free of charge.
